REFLECTIONS ART PROGRAM                This year’s theme: What is Your Story?

Welcome to the world of Reflections!  Reflections is a National PTA Arts Program that gives students the opportunity to express themselves in any of the following areas:

Visual Arts (drawing, painting, etc.)        Music Composition             Dance Choreography
Literature               Video Production             Photography

Students will have until Friday, October 7th to create new pieces of artwork inspired by this year’s theme.  Every submission needs to be the original work of only one student.  PTSA will accept TWO entries per student.  All the pieces submitted will be displayed here at the school during the week of October 17th.  A breakfast reception and awards ceremony will be held for all participating students on Friday October 28th at 8:15am in the Library.  The entries will be judged in their age categories (K-2, 3-5, 6-8).  Up to three pieces in each category will be selected by the judges to be a part of the Jefferson County PTA display at Red Rocks Community College, and may even go on to the State or National Reflections program!

Most importantly though, Van Arsdale PTSA wants to give our students the opportunity to express themselves and their talents in as many ways as possible!  We’re excited to see what our talented students create for this program.

Just for Parents: This program is age based, and should be age appropriate.  A student’s best work may include crooked lines or misspelled words.  You may give them feedback—for example, showing them how to brainstorm ideas or suggesting that they proofread their pieces, but please be sure that their final effort is truly their own work of art.
